Baby Gap Retail Stores

The idea driving Baby Gap’s design was that a residential feel would embrace a sense of security and familiarity. This concept guided the division of the store’s space into “residential” proportions. The following schematic designs illustrate the development of structures and details that seperate the space into three distinct “rooms”. Multiple sketches, including floorplans, elevations and perspectives, are used to explore different solutions. Each solution is critiqued, reviewed and revised accounting for the aesthetics, functionality and constructability of each design.
